Almenara Golf Club, designed in 1998 by Dave Thomas, is one of Spain's most popular courses. Located somewhat more inland than Valderrama, from its lofty location it overlooks both the Ryder Cup host as well as the San Roque Golf Resort.

A course that demands respect with its 27 holes (par 72) distributed in three distinct areas, Almentara offers a challenge to the best golfer.

Nestled in the midst of a green, wooded area, the course also boasts a number of large lakes and offers three well-differentiated playing routes.

Surrounded by the typically dazzling Sotogrande landscape, the first nine holes wind around spectacular hills covered with cork and pine trees.

The course’s second section runs through a more open area around an enormous crystal-clear lake.

The course winds up in an area with several lakes, with some of Europe’s most breathtaking tee shots.
