San Roque Golf Resort now represents one of the premier golf resorts in Southern Europe. This magnificent 5 star complex is complemented by two wonderful 18 hole golf courses. The old course, created in 1990 was designed by Dave Thomas and is now rated amongst the finest in Europe. For many years it has played host to memorable moments, including the 1997 Ryder Cup. The course's tight, sloping fairways are lined by mature cork oak trees - demanding straight, accurate driving. Strategic bunker placement and deceptive water hazards threaten all but the most precise approach shots.
The new course, offers a very different challenge, designed by Perry Dye and Severiano Ballesteros the idea was to create a second championship course that is a challenge for scratch and low handicap golfers but that is also possible for higher handicap players to enjoy. It has all the hallmarks to be included in the elite of Europe’s golf facilities and was the venue for the 2005 and 2006 Open de España on the European tour.
