  Real Club Sotogrande

Inaugurated in 1964, the Real Club Sotogrande was the first golf course in Europe designed by Robert Trent Jones. In 1994, His Majesty King Juan Carlos I granted Sotogrande the title of "royal".

Located between the Guadiaro river and the Sotogrande marina, it's but three miles from its neighbour the Valderrrama course, and only 150 metres from the shores of the  Mediterranean sea.

Considered one of the top 100 courses in the world, with both a fantastic 18-hole par 72 course and a 9-hole par 3 course, it boasts a privileged location that means that playing golf is an year-round event.

Its long tees, wide fairways and generous-sized greens bear the mark of Trent Jones’ typical design. The course is fully integrated into the surrounding natural beauty, and the variety of native vegetation—cork, pine and eucalyptus trees—makes this environment unique whilst at the same time increasing the course’s difficulty, making it a real challenge not just for professionals, but also top-notch amateurs.
